-more big band-jazz. and not only are the liner notes by Ray Charles, but he was also one of the engineers and played piano on most of the LP. this album features such tunes as “Ain’t That Peculiar”, “I Got You (I Feel Good)”, “Hang On Sloopy” and of course “Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag” besides others and covers a whole range from uptempo to bluesy and mellow. other musicians involved are Carol Kaye, Ray Barretto and Grady Tate to name a few. this original was recorded in 1965. and just some 40 years later it’s mine to enjoy. excellent-
