Ramsey Lewis: “Funky Serenity”
-I guess it is no new thing to consider Ramsey Lewis one of the greatest jazz musicians. also he is one of those artists where it seems that there is always something new to discover. on Funky Serenity, once again, he shares pure beauty in slower grooves like “My Love For You” and “If Loving You Is Wrong I Don’t Want To Be Right” as well as pure dancefloor jazz like “What It Is!”. accompanied by Cleveland Eaton on bass and percussion, Morris Jennings on drums, conga and percussion and Ed Green on electric violoin and percussion Ramsey lewis is shining like a star. and you HipHop hedas don’t sleep on this as your favourites like the Fugees, A Tribe Called Quest, Ty and the Saukrates found quite some useful pieces to sample on here. simply a great record!-
